The director of 1974 Swallows & Amazons film dies
Claude Watham passed away earlier this month
Claude Harold Watham, the man behind the popular 1974 film of Swallows and Amazons has died aged 80. He passed away on 4 January in Anglesey, North Wales.
As well as the film of Ransome's children's classic, he was known for other successes, such as A Voyage Round My Father (1969), Elizabeth R, starring Glenda Jackson, and Cider with Rosie (both 1971), and All Creatures Great and Small (1975).
