OUR BRITISH ACCOUNT

In addition to paying your membership dues in U.S. dollars via the TARS U.S. Coordinator, you can also

• purchase items from the Society Stall** or other TARS Enterprises (see back of any Signals or other Society publication, or the TARS Enterprises flyer sent to new members)
• subscribe to the next book from Amazon Publications
• pay membership dues in and make donations to The Nancy Blackett Trust
• submit booking forms and deposits for the AGM and Literary Weekend events
• send money for other TARS purposes such as Regional events, if arranged in advance with the TARS Treasurer

**Note that you may also purchase from the Society Stall and pay directly via credit card; see the Stall area of the TARS website here.

Please note that you are welcome to deal directly with the U.K. for any of these processes if you would prefer, if you have ready access to sterling and don't need our process to handle your U.S. dollars.

Current currency conversion rate (as of 1 September 2007)

We are now using a conversion rate of $2.10 = £1.00 and you should use that in calculating costs.

To place an order from the TARS Society Stall (as an alternative to paying directly by credit card), or other TARS Enterprise

1. Compose your order as follows:
• E-mail or write clearly and provide your name and address
• Specify what you are ordering and give total value IN POUNDS STERLING for each item
• Do NOT attempt to figure shipping and handling charges
• DO indicate whether you want the item(s) shipped by sea post (slow, cheap) or air post (faster, more expensive)
• Show the total amount IN POUNDS STERLING


2. Send the order to me in by electronic mail or in writing. DO NOT SEND MONEY!

3. I will transmit the order to the U.K. The order will be assembled and shipped as you requested. Any items not available will be backordered, and handled as a separate order when available. A detailed invoice including postage and packing will be included, and I will be notified of the final cost.
4. I will write or e-mail you informing you that the order has shipped and what the total cost of the order was, including postage and packing, in U.S. dollars.
5. After you have received this notification from me, send me a check for the total in U.S. dollars made out to The Arthur Ransome Society to the address above. Do not make the check out to Robin Mashall.

To order the next Amazon Publication or to donate to The Nancy Blackett Trust:

1. You may order the next Amazon Publication by sending me your subscription amount in dollars (generally published in Signals from TARSUS with an accompanying note explaining that it is for the next Amazon Publication. Remember that you only order the next publication directly from Amazon. For current or previous years' publications, order from the Society Stall. For more information refer to the Amazon Publications information printed in the TARS journals. Make your check payable to The Arthur Ransome Society.


2. To donate to The Nancy Blackett Trust, send me a check in dollars with an accompanying note to be relayed to the Trust. Make your check payable to The Arthur Ransome Society.
