Abbot Hall & The Museum of Lakeland Life

TARS has its registered office at the Abbot Hall Museum of Lakeland Life in Kendal, Cumbria. The venue was chosen because it houses a permanent Ransome exhibit, the contents of which were given to the Museum by Evgenia Ransome on the death of her husband.

The Ransome Room has an extensive collection of memorabilia: his desk, typewriter and some of his many pipes; a selection of his favourite books; first editions of many of the foreign language translations of his own novels; and much more besides.
