At last the green trees were close ahead, and Swallow was
safe in the pool and ran her nose up the beach in the tiny bay,

Welcome to the TARS website!
The Arthur Ransome Society (TARS) was formed in 1990 in order to celebrate and promote the life and works of Arthur Ransome, who is perhaps best known for his "Swallows and Amazons" series of books, first published between 1930 - 1947 and all of which remain in print to this day.
The TARS website aims to provide regularly updated information on the Society, including news and events, for use by both prospective and existing members. It also intended to be a useful resource for all things Arthur Ransome - his books, his life, the locations and characters featured in his writing, and other related information of interest.
We hope you enjoy your visit.
