Cluster Maps ...

Ok, I've added a "ClusterMap" to the far bottom right of the page, it should get it's fist update after 2 hours or so ... it's quite a nice toy and shows the global distribution of people who're using the site .. :)

Thanks, Gareth - it'll be interesting to see the results

Glancing at the cluster map over the last day or two, it has been interesting to see which parts of the world visitors to the site are coming from.

Seeing visits from one or two countries has made me ponder AR's links to different parts of the world. For instance, seeing a visit from Uganda made me think of Myles North who was living in East Africa (actually in Nairobi) when, "knowing a good deal of what happened" he asked AR to "write the full story" of Great Northern?  A visit from Egypt reminds me that AR spent a couple of months there as a journalist, reporting for the Guardian

However, I'm struggling a bit more to think of any links between AR and Vietnam, or Mexico, or Madagascar (please do remind me, if there's something I've forgotten!). And don't get me wrong: I'm not for one second suggesting that people living in these places can't have a real interest in AR, simply because he had little direct experience of their parts of the world. All I'm saying is that seeing their visits on the site map has reminded me about some of the places AR did visit or had links to.

Thanks, that's fascinating.  I will keep checking back to see what new countries are represented.
