Wordsearch in Outlaw
Hi!!!
I was doing the word search in the Outlaw that just came out, and when I found Beckfoot, one of the letters was off. What was supposed to be F was really L. Was this a typo, or did I find the wrong thing??
Also, I found the word BOAT. I don't know if this was a coincidence, or if it was just forgotten from the list. The B is 7th from the top, 4th from the right. It reads left to right from there. So, was it supposed to be there?
=) Who does red writing remind you of???
PS-Did you know that you can buy red mechanical pencil lead?? I have some.
Quite right Deidre...... well spotted. I expect you have found all the other words OK.
PS No I didn't.
I did find the other ones, but there is one last one I haven't found. I'm much better at finding words that are just in the letters. It's pretty funny, because you can usually find lots of ones put in on accident. You can also buy blue, but I bet there's more if you order it. It breaks really easily though.
Many thanks Deirdre for reporting this. I've tried using programs to create these wordsearches, but usually they give a very basic table. So I use Excel, and first create a list of words which I start to fit in, trying to criss cross them to make it a bit more interesting. Then I add more words from the list, then start thinking of extra words. The last thing is to fill the blank spaces up with letters, trying to avoid making new words in the process. (As it is in Excel, I create a duplicate framework with formulae in it so that I can find any particular letter in the grid). I suspect that the second 'boat' was due to me thinking originally I would have to split the word houseboat into two words, then realising I could fit it all in. The 'L' instead of 'F' in Beckfoot must have happened when I fitted the spare letters in. Sorry if it's caused headaches!
What word are you both searching for?
Rob (it's all Captain Flint's fault)
Seal, but I found it. You can tell Captain Flint it's all right, and I didn't get a headache (if I did it was from reading in not very good light when I'm supposed to be asleep).
Please accept my apologies Deirdre: your message below somehow went walkabout in May and I've only just noticed it was never published properly. Mea culpa x 3,000,000. I'll get out my personal plank and walk it immediately...
