Old Peter's Russian Tales airs on BBC7 during Christmas Week
Another chance to catch Ransome's Russian folk tales first played on Radio 4
For those of you who missed the dramatisation of five of Arthur Ransome's Old Peter's Russian Tales last year, there's another opportunity to catch them when they're repeated on BBC7, starting on Christmas Eve.
Old Peter's Russian Tales is a magical collection of folk/fairy tales written by Arthur Ransome. Deep in the heart of the forest in a hut, Old Peter tells his grandchildren, Vanya and Maroosia, a new tale every day. Here are five of them dramatised by David Britton and starring Trevor Cooper, Jemma McKenzie-Brown, Harry Hughes, John Dougall and Joseph Kloska.
Go to the BBC7 website to listen to the stories and, if you miss one of them, it's repeated twice and is also available on the Listen Again service for up to 6 days after it first airs.
The schedule is as follows:
Mon 24 Dec, 10:00 - 10:15 [Rptd at 9.00pm, Tue 25 Dec 2.00am].
