Ransome Finds a Place at the Waterstone's Writer's Table
Philip Pullman has selected "We Didn't Mean to go to Sea" for this major promotion by the UK bookstore.
The Waterstone's "Writer's Table" has given Pullman free rein to choose forty books as his personal recommendations to the bookstore's customers. Writing in The Times, Pullman explains that he decided to aim for variety, whilst avoiding the most obvious and well-known classics.
Writing about his choice of We Didn't Mean to go to Sea, he says "what an exciting story this is: danger, courage, skillful seamanship, and a real respect for his young protagonists."
His full review of the book will be available online at Waterstone's website from 4th September, when the Writer's Table is officially launched.
