Coch-y-bonddhu Finds a New Home
Ransome's dinghy is once more on public display in Windermere
TARS recently reached an agreement with Windermere St Anne's School to place Coch-y-bonddhu on public display at the main school site in Bowness-on-Windermere. She will be available on a daily basis as the centre-piece of an Arthur Ransome display in the main school dining hall, which is not only used by the school's students, but also by outside organisations hiring the hall for meetings.
In addition to these groups, Cochy will be available for visits by the public. Access to see Cochy will be free of charge - the school only asks that you contact them in advance to arrange a mutually convenient time.
Cochy will continue to be used by TARS on occasion for member sailing at its events.
We expect the formal opening of the new Coch-y-bonddhu display will take place early in the New Year.
You can find out more information about Cochy, together with details on how to contact Windermere St Anne's, on the Coch-y-bonddhu page of our site.
