Appointment of Literary Executors

Christina Hardyment is delighted to announce the appointment of two new Literary Executors of the Arthur Ransome Estate

These appointments follow the sad deaths of John Bell on 21st January, 2008 and Dave Sewart on 8th May.

Christina's appreciation of John Bell's work for the Estate was published in the most recent edition of Signals, the TARS news magazine. Dave's untimely death was announced at the recent AGM, where Christina gave a verbal appreciation of his many-faceted contributions to both the Society and the Estate.

The two new executors are Elizabeth Sewart and Geraint Lewis.

Elizabeth will be well known to many TARS members for her early pioneering work alongside Dave. As "Dorothea" she created and developed The Outlaw, the Society's magazine for junior members, editing the first twelve editions. In more recent years she has been able to keep abreast of Dave's work as Literary Executor, including his meticulous organisation of the Estate's archives.

Geraint has also played a number of roles in TARS, most recently as Chairman from 2003 - 2008.

You can contact the Literary Executors by email at literaryestate@arthur-ransome.org. Please note that messages sent to this address are automatically forwarded to the Executors and are not read by anyone at TARS.
