The Big Pit is the National Mining Museum of Wales and part of a World Heritage Site.

Entry to the museum is free and provision is made for diabled and wheelchair access. However, juniors need to be over one metre tall in order to join the underground tour. This tour includes descending 90m in a pit cage.

Warm clothing and sensible footwear are advisable.
