"New" Ransome Books available
Facsimile versions of three of Ransome's earliest books are now available on-line.
While many of us will have read of Ransome's three early Nature Books for Children, very few have ever seen or read them as they are very rare.
In 1906 Arthur Ransome was commissioned to write a series of short books on "the seasons, the garden, ponds and streams, woods, fields, and country lanes." Only three of the planned six books were published before the publisher went bankrupt. The three books which were published are The Child's Book of the Seasons, Pond and Stream, and Things In Our Garden.
Mr. Clint Heitman of Boston, Massachusetts, became the owner of a set of the books and has created digital images of every page and illustration in the books. He has made PDFs of the books available on-line at the "All Things Ransome" website. (See http://www.allthingsransome.net/literary/naturebooks.html). Posting of these PDFs is by permission of the Arthur Ransome Literary Estate.
